The Tampico Area Historical Society encompasses parts of Whiteside County and Bureau County in Illinois. Focus is on Tampico, Hume Twp., Hahnaman/Deer Grove, & Prophetstown in Whiteside County & Yorktown & Thomas in Bureau County.

I inherited this really cool paper weight with the name Charles Bent, was in a box with some old 1890+ era photos, looks like the first whiteside paper delivery truck 1930's in a parade... Boxes and boxes of old photo's... Charles SR is in Civil war uniform on horseback... Any Bent family members looking for pictures? email me..cg348@yahoo.com

Wow Phil!
What a great "find"! And how great of you to get the message out for possible family members. I am assuming this is the author, Charles Bent and I'm wondering if those photos, etc. aren't a collection of family memorabelia he collected for his book????
