Hello,
I am looking for information on the descendants of Anton Johnson (Janssen) born 1838 in Germany. He is buried along with his wife in Maple Ridge Cemetery north of Sterling.
I am hoping to find an old obituary which shows parents as being one of those below.
I have little information on their offspring, only their names and spouses. His immediate children were:
- Louis JOHNSON who married Emma Cassens - Minnie - who married Henry CASSENS - Mary - who married Ott ENGEL
PS The above would be cousins to Benard "Ben" Ludwig Johnson

Hi Barry, What is the death date for Anton? Can't look for an obit unless we know when he died. What was his wife's name? Do you have any dates for any of these people other than a birth date for Anton? Marriage dates for Louis, Minnie or Mary? If you have an idea, you can check the Sterling Gazetted Index on line for obits or marriage notices - http://207.63.0.101/Gazette%20Web/gaz01a.asp
Did Minnie remarry? See index: Behrens, Wilhelmina Janssen (Herman) obituary 22 Aug 1947;2;1 There are 64 pages of Janssen's in the Gazette index. Check it out. The paper started publishing in 1854 I think. They do not have them all indexed on line. If you have specific dates, you can contact them to do a look up for you. Here is their contact info:
