I figured it would be a good time to start a separate message topic for the DRAYTON line.

Here's some clips I transcribed from The Tampico Tornado:

January 23, 1919
EASTERNERS LIKE CALIFORNIA
Mr. and Mrs. J.C. MAGEE and the latter’s sister, Mrs. Anna BEECHER and father George DRAYTON of Illinois and Mrs. STAGG of San Francisco, made up a happy party that spent New Years in Pasadena where they saw the tournament. Upon his return home from the floral parade Mr. DRAYTON received a letter from his son in Illinois saying that the temperature had reached an unusual point of 26 degrees below zero. The news coupled with the beautiful flowers which he had seen growing during the several weeks stay here made him doubly thankful that he was so fortunate as to be in sunny California. – Rialto, California, Record.

January 23, 1919
News has just been received here of the marriage on New Year’s day of Miss Maude NEEDHAM, the youngest daughter of Mrs. C.J. MAGEE, and T.J. MANNING, a fine young man of San Francisco, Cal. They were guests at the MAGEE home during the holiday season and they gave no hint at that time that their wedding would take place so soon. The bride is the granddaughter of George DRAYTON of this place and is an exceptionally pretty young girl who has made Rialto (CA) her home since until almost a year ago when she went to San Francisco with her sister, Mrs. STAGG. Mr. MANNING is a large, fine-looking young fellow and made friends readily while in Rialto They expect to make home in San Francisco.

Tampico Tornado:
April 10, 1919
George DRAYTON and daughter, Mrs. Annie BEECHER, returned last week Thursday from Rialto, Calif., where they spend the winter with his daughter, Nellie MAGEE. Mr. DRAYTON and daughter both like California and he gained some 20 pounds and his general health is much improved. Mr. DRAYTON talks very interestingly of California’s fine climate, wonderful roads, and hustle and activity. He says Mr. and Mrs. M.G. FRANCE are doing nicely, Mr. FRANCE is conducted a business college and school of elocution and she looks after their half interest in the creamery. Mr. DRAYTON also enjoyed a visit with A.T. GLASSBURN who expects to come home in May.

Tampico Tornado:
April 17, 1919
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas a DRAYTON accompanied their son, Leslie, to Kewanee last Thursday and were with him when he was operated on for appendicitis and hernia. Leslie stood the operation very nicely and is getting along as well as can be expected. Mrs. DRAYTON remained with him for several days.
