I would greatly appreciate any assistance and/or leads that could be provided which would assist me in piecing together the history and life of Watson C. Holbrook, who was originally from Coleta. Mr. Holbrook was an amateur anthropologist from the area who published several articles in Science Magazine, and was quite interested in local burial mounds, skeletons found therein, etc. I also am an anthropologist, and am interested in researching Mr. Holbrook's life due to communication he had in 1881 with Charles Darwin, just prior to Darwin's death. I kindly request anyone with any information and/or artifacts related to Mr. Holbrook and his research to contact me at:
James B. Longwell, Jr. PO Box 248 Broadalbin, New York 12025 jimlongwelljr@gmail.com 518-883-3278 (Permanent - Home) 518-461-4552 (Mobile)
I would also be most grateful to be put in contact with any of Mr. Holbrook's descendants.
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards, Jim Longwell
