My great grandfather was Benjamin Franklin SUTHERLAND. He farmed in Milo, IL and came from a huge family, there. Among the many local names connected by marriage are as follows: Britton, Reves, Reeves and Whipple. I'd like to hear from anyone interested in my family history.

Hi Viola & Les, Whipples - I see in my genealogy - Dora, Elizabeth, Harriet M., John, Sarah, William & William B. Also, by another branch I am related to NH representative & Brig. General William Whipple (d. 1785) who signed the Dec. of Independence. Re(e)ves are in my direct line. Leah married a Sutherland. I believe Reves & Reeves are related but haven't figured out why some drop an 'e'. Reeves in my family tree are: Clarence, Earl, Ed Oscar, Hazel, Howard, Ruth & Velma. Reves include Carl Lee, Leah (married Ben F. Sutherland), & William D. Hope to contact and share more with you both! Cheers, Don of Ohio (most kin buried in Dallas County, Iowa)

SUTHERLAND - my Sutherland line descends from Hanna (Avery) & William Sutherland of Scotland and Bangall, N.Y. Roger Sutherland came west to southern Indiana about 1815 and then some of his family settled in Milo, IL. There is a Milo, N.Y. and I ponder if folks from N.Y. helped name this place? Sutherlands ran the first post office of Milo, IL. As of yet, I do not see a 'Ralph or Kathryn' in my line but I'm willing to bet that there is a connection IF you have Re(e)ves and Whipples. My Milo relations moved to Dallas County Iowa. Most are in the Brethren Cemetery, Panora, IA. Thankyou, Don of Akron Ohio

Hi: For those checking the name "Whipple" I have John Saunders Whipple b. Nov. 1873 (son of Nancy E. Whipple b. Nov. 1829) who married Mary Elizabeth Cox (09-05-1878 to 08-08-1911 daughter of James Judson
Cox and Emily Matilda Mumford Cox).
Children: Harry Raymond, Edward, Emily.
Hope this helps someone. I may have a photo somewhere also.

Hi. The oath i spoke of was Signed in Rhode Island. Many men in area signed it plus most likely composed it. I would bet money if the lot of us got together we would get our tree's done in no time. But im not a gambler.
Viola.
