I am Allen Johnson. My Grand Father, Fred Johnson
and Grand mother Mae ( Shere ) Johnson farmed in
Woodward's Bluff. It is in sec. 29 Prophetstown, Twp.
Whiteside, County, IL west of IL 78, near Leon Church
and cemetery. My Father was born there.

Allen my e-mail is aljohnlvn@embarqmail.com

Hi Allen,

Thank you for replying. Could you give me driving directions? I would like to see the area. I am researching the Turner family. Their youngest daughter Ellen May's obit states that she was born at Woodard's Bluff in 1867. I am assuming this is where the family lived but the other sibling's place of birth lists Prophetstown. Her father was a farmer so they must have lived outside of Prophetstown. Wasn't there also a Woodard's school?

Thank you,
Pat

Thank you. I think I shouldn't have any trouble finding it. I had asked a couple of people in Prophetstown and neither one had ever heard of Woodard's Bluff. Again people on this list have come through with the answers. Thank you Tampico Historical Society members and especially Denise for your assistance and great site.

Pat
