The Tampico Area Historical Society encompasses parts of Whiteside County and Bureau County in Illinois. Focus is on Tampico, Hume Twp., Hahnaman/Deer Grove, & Prophetstown in Whiteside County & Yorktown & Thomas in Bureau County.

The area towns will be participating in the Centennial Celebrations, including Tampico on Sept. 8. Tampico's Long Range Planning Committee will be sponsoring a kid's fishing derby. Watch site and local papers for details.
Steve Moser, Site Superintendent, Hennepin Canal will be the guest speaker at our August Annual Pot Luck PicNic held in the Community Bldg. All are welcome. Steve is a walking encyclopedia on the history of the canal and will surely enlighten us on its past and present day activities. Bring a dish to pass and join us! August 28, 6pm
