The Tampico Area Historical Society encompasses parts of Whiteside County and Bureau County in Illinois. Focus is on Tampico, Hume Twp., Hahnaman/Deer Grove, & Prophetstown in Whiteside County & Yorktown & Thomas in Bureau County.

Just a reminder - The 3rd annual Yorktown Cemetery Walk will be held on Oct. 7, @ 2 p.m. in the YT cemetery. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Yorktown Community Bldg. Everyone invited.
Carol Greenwood Fox will be representing her grandfather, Clinton Forrest Greenwood 1885-1927
Lorraine Gaskill will represent Andrew Berge 1837-1926
Joan Johnson representing Lovina Booth 1850-1943

Does Loraine Gaskill post on this site? If not, could you mention to her that I am interested in the name Berge, because it was my gr.gr. grandmothers maiden name, and I can not find her on any lists locally.
She was Christina Berge Sippel, born in Germany, came to USA in 1865 from the Hesse Castle region. They came to Peoria first, then later settled in the Hooppole area.
Any info would be much appreciated..

Hi Bette,
Lorraine Gaskill does not "do" computers. Her husband does email and I see her every week at church. She will be giving the TAHS a copy of her BERGE family history shortly. I can then post it to site or review for your relative. OR, if you would like to give me your mailing address, I can pass it on to her.

Hi Bette,
I passed your message on to Terry, Lorraine's husband. He said Lorraine does not do computers but she would certainly respond in writing to you. If you email me with your mailing address, I will pass it on to Lorraine. I'm not sure what her POBox is, or I would email you with her address. Email me at tahs@thewisp.net
You should start a seperate message thread with the BERGE surname in the Subject line. No one is going to read this under the "Yorktown Cemetery Walk" subject line. Just a suggestion. You might get other relatives to respond.
