I noticed on the Cemetery list that there is a Ruth Jacob Cummings listed. Does anyone have information on her?

Is 1927 the death year or birth year?

thanks for any help you can give me...

Just an FYI, so folks know which of the many cemeteries listed on this site that you are talking about -You are refering to the Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
The 1927 is the death date. All I can find is a small "Card of Thanks" listed in the Tampico Tornado newspaper, April 21, 1927. It reads: "To all our friends and neighbors who assisted us during the illness, the death, and the funeral of our mother, we extend our heartfelt thanks. Truly friends in need are friends in deed.
Mr. & Mrs. E. B. Cummings"

There is no obituary, and she is not listed in our funeral log book. I did a quick check on the Gazette index and she is not listed there either.

There is a Luna Cummings buried in the TMC. Her husband was Emmet Cummings. Luna's parents were Henry L & Louisa Denison. This could be the "Mr. & Mrs. E. B. Cummings."

Oops, I was wrong. The Mr. & Mrs. E B Cummings were not refering to Ruth Jacobs Cummings. I just checked the funeral log for E.B.Cummings. His parents were Hiram and Eliza Jane Cummings. And Luna's parents are listed as Henry Denison and Louisa M. Newton

It's interesting to note that there are "Jacobs" buried in the same section - J - as the Cummings (Ruth Jacobs Cummings). I'll try to get over to cemetery and see if can get more info.

Perhaps someone can shed some light on this. . .

I went to the cemetery today and took a picture of the grave site. CLICK ON PHOTO TO ENLARGE AND/OR LEAVE A COMMENT> Ruth's stone is in the JACOBS family lot, the 1927 is the birth date and it appears she is still living. As you can see by the photo, she will be buried with Dan Cummings who died in 1994. If you click on photo, it will take you to the Tampico Memorial Cemetery album. You can click the arrows at top of page to see full view of the JACOB family lots, or click on "View Album" to see all of the TMC graves that have been photographed to date.

I will have to go to Sterling for that obit on Dan (unless someone can submit it to us).

Sterling Gazette Index shows the following:
Cummings, Dan marries Ruth E. Jacobs 4 Sep 1947;9;4

I'll keep checking to see if I can find any other info. Hope this is helpful.
