Hi Les,
I don't know the answer to your question - hopefully someone out there knows the family. They aren't buried in Tampico, but it looks like they bought a plot in P-Town - check Genealogy Trails/Whiteside, Prophetstown/Riverside Cemetery

GEORGE THOMPSON 19 Apr 1916 Jun 1986 61277 (Prophetstown, Whiteside, IL) (none specified) 352-12-2044 Illinois (TOO YOUNG!)

Check the Gazette for obit.
Also found on Chris's site: BURNS, Homer 1877 1970 Mabel Emmons . BURNS, Mabel (Emmons) 1877 1954 Homer H. Burns Edwin & Irene (Foy) Emmons
They are buried in our Tampico Memorial Cemetery. I'll see if I can get the 1954 obit. I wasn't sure if this is the family you are following.

Les, I could be totally wrong here, but I always thought that Harry Thompson was Homer & Mabel Burns' son-in-law. I didn't read the obit you mentioned so it might be a different Harry Thompson.

I guess I should have read the obit before responding. I met the Thompson's and Burns' when I was quite young. My apologies for jumping in to quickly. In reading the obit, it looks to like Harry is a grandson not son-in-law.

To get an answer to Harry Thompson's family question contact Deb VanLanduit 815-438-5342 in Tampico or Al Thompson 815-438-4225 in Deer Grove. They are 2 of Harry's kids that still living in the area. George and Gladys Thompson in Prophetstown are not part of Harry Thompson's family.
