John Closson died in Whiteside County in 1842 and was buried in Genesee Grove Cemetery, Genesee Township. On 1922 a plat map, there was a chuch and cemetery there, on land owned by H. Stearns....While my mother-in-law, Kathleen Swehla, lived in Sterling for 60 years, she had no idea her great-great uncle had ever lived in the area. Her grandmother was a Closson. Any information on any Closson family in Whiteside County would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to contact me by email send to derkswehla@q.com. Thanks!
