I am looking for information concerning relations of Sivard Pierson. He lived near Prophetstown and married Myrtle Lindquist. They had sons Raymond, Clarence, Richard, and Dean Pierson

I had responded to this post on the Whiteside Co. Message Boards and suggested they post to this site. I know we have people that link to this line and hoped they would respond.

He has also stated he wants to follow the line back from Sivard.

Here is the info I posted - I will look up the obit for Sivard and probably the reunions in the Tampico Tornado.I won't have anything after 1966. Can anyone add to this?

Sivard Pierson Taken By Death
Sivard Pierson, a well known farmer in the Leon community, died suddenly at his home Thursday morning. He was 67 years old.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Gardner chapel, Prophetstown, with Rev. Brent Doan, pastor of the Leon Methodist church, officiating.

Mrs. Howard Matthews served as organist and accompanied the soloist, James Duling.

Mrs. Ray Gustafson, Mrs. Roy Winkler, Mrs. John Albright Sr., and Hill Crest Greenhouse were in charge of the flowers.
Burial was in the Leon cemetery with Ronald Gibson, Albert Forward, John Albright Sr., Ray Gustafson, Henry Dietz and Howard Matthews serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Pierson was born May 15, 1895, the son of Swan and Anna Monson Pierson, in Das Utam Nasum, Sweden. He came to the United States when he was 18 years old and settled in the Leon community. On January 17, 1923, he married Myrtle Darlene Lindquist in the Leon parsonage. They had farmed in that community all their married life.

He is survived by his wife; four sons, Raymond and Richard, Sterling, Clarence, Tampico, and Dean at home; one daughter, Mrs Kenneth (Betty Jean)Cherry, Sterling; eight grandchildren and six sisters who reside in Sweden.

HONORED ON WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
the children of Mr. and Mrs. Sivard Pierson entertained in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pierson Thursday evening in honor of their 40th wedding anniversary.

They entertained the honorees, their son Dean, Mrs. Ronald Gibson, and Mrs. Richard Pierson at supper.

Added guests arrived for a social evening during which refreshments were served from a table centered with a two tiered cake decorated in ruby and white with holders on either side. Mrs. Elvin Lindquist cut and served the cake. Mrs. Richard Pierson and Mrs. Kenneth Cherry served the punch and coffee.

Mrs. Pierson was presented a corsage of pink, lavender and whie carnations, and Mr. Pierson a white carnation boutonniere. They received cards, gifts and flowers.

Miss Myrtle Lindquist and Sivard Pierson were married January 17, 1923 in the parsonage of the Methodist church at Leon by Rev. L. E. Winter. Miss Doris Munson and Glenn Lindquist were their attendants.

They have farmed in the Leon community all their married life.

They have five children, Raymond, Richard and Mrs. Kenneth (Betty Jean) Cherry, Sterling, Clarence, Yorktown and Dean at home; eight grandchildren., Curtis, Michael, Ingrid and Rhonda Pierson, Randy and Wayne Cherry. Sterling, Lowell and Lindsay Pierson, Yorktown.

Added evening guests were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Munson, Mrs. Elmer Tornow, Mrs. Delmar Munson, and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Tornow, Walnut, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pierson, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cherry ad Dean, Sterling, Miss Doris Munson and Mrs. Ronald Gibson, Prophetstown, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gustafson, Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson,Lawrence Crosell, Arthur and Glenn Lindquist, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Lindquist.

Did you get the information that you were looking for about Sivard and Myrtle Pierson's family? They lived in the Leon community and Myrtle attended the Leon Church for many years. I knew Myrtle, and worked with her at church. Their youngest son, Dean, was in my husband's class in high school. He now lives in the Rockford, IL area.
