I have quite a bit of information on William Oscar Hixson and a few photogrphs. I also just received some photogrpahs of the Joseph Warren Hixson family (brother of William Oscar). Joeseph was an early Village Board Member in Tampico. Although I have made several visits to the Tampico cemeteries, I have still not located the grave of William Oscar Hixsons' first wife --Elizabeth "Lane" Hixson. I would appreciate any and all help in researching the Hixsons.

Tom, Thought you might be interested in this from The Tampico Tornado:
November 29, 1917 J.W. HIXSON received word while in Columbus, South Dakota, that his brother, Oscar died Nov. 16, in Hilsdale, Iowa at the age of 81 and was buried near the home of his daughter at Blanchard, Iowa. His sons, Ed HIXSON and wife and Fred HIXSON wne from Dakota and reached his bedside before he died. They returned via Tampico last Friday and visted at the home of J.W. HIXSON and from here went to Rock Falls for a visit with Mrs. D.P. ALDRICH. Oscar HIXSON was one of the old settlers of this vicinity and is known to the older inhabitants.
I assume that this "Oscar" is indeed William Oscar HIXSON.

How certain is it that Eliza Jane HIXON buried in Tampico Cementary is Elizabeth Jane (LANE) HIXSON wife of William Oscar HIXSON? From what I might have found is that Joseph Warren HIXSON was married to a Eliza Jane (BUNKER) CUMMINGS possibly formally a wife of Hiram CUMMINGS. The date I have seen listed for this Eliza HIXON would seem to correspond with J.W. HIXSON'S wife if he was indeed married to her.

That was my error, Bryan. They are two different people and I have been diligently searching for Elizabeth. I think she may be in the old cemetery. The sexton and I have scoured the TMC searching for her to no avail. I have to wait until spring to physically look for her in the old cemetery. I'm trying to locate some solid records for burials there. I'll keep you posted.......
I am researching the following for Tom Hickson: Elizabeth Ann (Lane) Hixson d. March 6, 1877 Delilah (Hixson) Aldrich. Delilah did not die in Tampico, but was allegedly buried there next to her daughter ( I believe "Jennie").
