The Tampico Area Historical Society encompasses parts of Whiteside County and Bureau County in Illinois. Focus is on Tampico, Hume Twp., Hahnaman/Deer Grove, & Prophetstown in Whiteside County & Yorktown & Thomas in Bureau County.

Help! Helen Nicely will be represented in our Tampico Memorial Day Cemetery Walk on Monday, May 26, beginning in St. Mary's Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. and ending in the Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
The Nicely's did not have any children, but they were very active in the community. Paul was a teacher here. They donated the buildings for the Birthplace & Historical Society as well as the lot south of the Historical Society. Her father was Riley Woods, owner of the First Nat'l Bank in Tampico However, there is very little written about them.
If you have any memories of these folks or news articles, etc., may I ask you to share with us? We have very little information available for the presentation on Helen. Thaks,
