Hi, I saw you posted in response to someone on a message board about information concerning the Glassburn family. I am a college student from Indiana, attending school in Tennessee. I have been looking up my father's mother's ancestry and she was a Glassburn. My grandmother's parents were Elvin Glassburn (March 15, 1911) and his wife Velva. My grandmother was Thelma Lucille Glassburn, and married into the Floyd family. Anyway, I have traced the Glassburns back to a David Glassburn and his wife Elizabeth of 1730 in Botetourt County, Virginia. Do you have any means of going further back? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks a lot!

I assume that you may have the book, David Glassburn-Virginia Pioneer. It starts with David Glassburn that came from Rhineland to seek his fortune in America, about 1750 and settled in Augusta Co. later Botetourt Co. Virginia in 1769. Have you tried contacting someone in Germany or used Ancestry to try and find where the Glassburn's originated in Germany?
Have you searched ship records for that time period for listings of Glassburn's?
