Asa Daniels,NH,[1798-1874 ] m Almira Vance,VT, [1801-1897] Dec 19, 1822 in Vermont, had 7 children , mostly in Canada, and arrived in Ustick Twsp, Whitesides County, in 1846. The descendant I have the most interest in is the oldest of the family, David Vance Daniels[1824-1899]who married (1)Mary Humphrey and had Charles Humphrey Daniels,(2)Mary Potter and had Henrietta Almira, John Wesley[1860-1940] , Herbert Albert, and Ida, and (3)Olive Elizabeth Hough and had Orril Manuel, Myra, and Cora May. Siblings of David Vance Daniels were Warner Vance,Amos B., Asel Asahel, Burrell Vance, Martha Almira [Shrew] , Sylvia M. [Canfield]. I would like to hear from any of these families. My family descends from John Wesley who eventually settled in Nebraska. Can anyone help me with this family? Will be glad to trade information and get acquainted. Mary Schott Alliance, NE

Hi Mary, I missed this msg somehow - Have you been to the Genealogy Trails/Whiteside Co., IL website. Do a site search on their home page http://genealogytrails.com/ill/whiteside/ and you will get quite a few hits. Many of these Daniels family members are buried in Cottonwood Cemetery (Franklin Methodist Church), Utick Twp. http://genealogytrails.com/ill/whiteside/cemcottonwood.html

my records say they actually lived in Lyndon township first then to ustick, I am actually very interested in David as well, my great-great grandfather was Burrell. I am actually more interested in Mary Umphrey or Humphrey and Mary Potter. I believe Mary Potter died giving birth to Ida and that Ida did not live with the Daniels family. I would also like more information on Myra and Cora. Also do you know where John & Minnie are buried, I can't seem to find it.

My apologies for not checking sooner for answers to my inquiries, Denise, I have followed up on your suggestions and addresses and am finding lots to keep. Thank you so much. mmjjmt--started answering some questions and I lost what I had typed, my email address is gramary1@gmail.com please contact me and I will have share everything I have with you. My children are John's gr-grandchildren, and I can also line you up with a granddaughter of Herbert. Charlie was Mary E. Humphrey's son, and he had a daughter who died in 1973 in WA. years, childless. You mentioned Ida and I will need to search a bit but I found a census where she lived with her mothers family. She married and had a son who came to the ranch here in NE at some time, the family chose not to keep track of him, i suspect. I found Orril in 1920 and 1930 censuses in Noxubee,Miss. and there was mention of a younger Daniels from this town in a local college so there may be family still there. I believe the last I have of Cora and Myra are in 1900 they are in Clinton, Iowa, with Orril the head of the household and their mother. John and Herbert had left home after David married Olive , spent a while with Charlie in MO, then had left and were working in Iowa and NE when they decided to go to WY and homestead. When their horses played out in Nebraska they stayed and homesteaded there, both owned and operated cattle ranches in Nebraska Sandhills. Please e-mail me and lets share what we have, mine is pretty sketchy but you are welcome to it. Mary Daniels Schott Alliance, NE

Hello, everyone. I am Herbert Albert Daniels's granddaughter. My mom was Herberta, the younger daughter. I will help where I can as Mom kept records for a lot of years before I got all enthused about geneaology. My email is barry_schinkel29@msn.com
