I was extremely saddened to read the artice on the HY&T line with no mention of my great-grandfather, William Druien, who was an engineer and fireman on the line for several years up until the close of the line in 1954. He is just as an important part of the history of this train as the rest, since it was such a small group of people involved. If anyone has information on him and his involvement, please submit it to the Historical Society so as they may update their records accurately. Thank you, Randy Meier, grandson of Gilbert and Lorena(Druien)Klockenga.

Dear Randy, Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention. Please know that I try very hard to get as much information posted as quickly as I come across it. I have not run across anything in print as yet. I will review the HY&T DVD again and see if he is mentioned. I will also check the Tornado & Gazette newspapers for any articles. If you have anything to share with us, PLEASE submit them to me and I will do my best to post it to the site. Again, please know that no slight was intended! You can email me at tahs@thewisp.net or ddm1050@hotmail.com or snail mail to the TAHS at POB 154, Tampico, IL 61283 (Attention: Denise McLoughlin).
