I have heard that there was a home in whiteside county that was called Hawthorne Villa. Owned by the Whipples. Does anyone have information on it. The home burned down and very little was saved in the fire.

There is an article in the Sterling Gazette: Hawthorne Villa 60 yrs old landmark razed by fire 31 March 1936;5;2* - I checked the Tampico Tornado, but there was no mention of the fire. You can contact the Sterling Library for a copy of the article: Sterling Public Library Jennifer Slaney, Director 102 West Third Street Sterling, Illinois 61081 director@sterlingpubliclibrary.org Phone: 815-625-1370 Fax: 815-625-7037 Genealogy Dept., Marilyn Anderson Genealogy: genealogy@sterlingpubliclibrary.org
