Dear Tonia,
Could you please give a little more info? What town did your grandparents live? What time-frame? Thank you.

The Martins lived next to Cora Gerlock? and Bessie and ? Brown. The Gerlocks were the janitors to the grade school. Sandy Martin, I think is a couple of years older than me. I lived across the street and 2 houses down - the Johnson farm. My sisters are Donna Satterfield & Bev Johnson. Sandy had a brother Kenny and an older sister who I don't remember. We went to Yorktown Grade School, which at the time I went was a 2 room school, my sisters went to the old 1 room school. Sandy may have gone to both. My Mom was friends with Jenny, I know that they talked on the phone a lot. We had a big garden and I know that Mom often took excess to Jenny.

Yes I lived in Yorktown from 1945-1965. I lived between Otto and Cora Gerlach and Arte and Bessie Brown. My name is Sandy and I was the youngest of the Martins. I have an older sister named Norma Hatten that still lives in Tampico and a brother named Kenny and a sister named Verla who are both deceased. I remember the Johnsons on the hill and all the garden stuff brought down.My parents were Harry and Jenny Martin. Anyone interested in contacting me my e-mail address is k.sells@insightbb.com

Tonia, This is Andy, & we lived at the General Store from 74-86. Mom & Dad still own it. I remember you & your sister! A quick story about Jenny (I remember her & Harry, too!)... when I was 6, I stepped on a piece of glass in the old Dr Weber building. Jenny tried to dig it out with a needle. I still think of that, as I'm a medical Corpsman in the Navy now! They were sweet, good people.
