I did some searching on this website and on the I-net - FamilySearch, Ancestry, etc. There is more than one Ezra Hewitt and not all entries include a middle name.

I recommend you contact Marilyn Anderson, President of the Whitesice Co. Genealogical Society, and head of the Sterling Library Genealogical Dept. SPL-Genealogy@comcast.net, Phone:815-625-1370. I'm not sure what type of record she would have since he was out of the state by 1856. I don't think they even had Farmer's Plat maps at that time.
