The Tampico Area Historical Society encompasses parts of Whiteside County and Bureau County in Illinois. Focus is on Tampico, Hume Twp., Hahnaman/Deer Grove, & Prophetstown in Whiteside County & Yorktown & Thomas in Bureau County.

My main focus is on the Shere family. My 3rd Great Grandfather was John Ellis Shere (1810-1901) and his family and extended families in the Whiteside, Bureau, and Henry counties. I'd like to make contacts and exchange family information.

Hi Brad,
I hope you've had a chance to do a site search on this website. Lots of Shere descedants & message threads. There was a Shere, Dow, Pierceson reunion here sbout 10 years ago.
I'll post a link to this on our Facebook page as well. I'm sure you will get some responses.
