Hello All, Many of you have asked how you can "help." Although $$ donations are always helpful, there are other ways to support the efforts of the TAHS that do not involve money. Your time is priceless and appreciated. I need people to transcribe various articles, obits, etc. All you need is a word processor of some type - MSWord, WordPerfect, WordPad, NotePad, etc. Transciptions should be in plain text. I can provide you with copies of articles that need to be typed (via email)or, if you have access to Tampico/Yorktown/Deer Grove related information, you can certainly type it and submit it to me via email. Transcriptions should be verbatim, include the source and publication date and original author. Your name will be credited on all transcriptions posted on site. Please contact me for more details.
A BIG hug to all of you that have written to the president of TAHS regarding the Family History Library and Research Center.

Dear Denise, I would be pleased to help you with transcriptions. If you would send them to my home address Cindy Leister 1109 So. Main St. Findlay, Ohio 45840 phone 419 423-9761 I'll get started! Do you have a picture or city map where the first store & post office was located by S.B. Winter and the merchant store of James Conroy and his location? I'm especially needing information on the Conroy's. Happy Holidays. Cindy Leister.

Cindy, Thank you for your generous offer to help transcribe. Since so much of the mail is delayed now, I think I'll wait until after the Christmas rush before I mail out transcription material. As for the Conroy's, keep checking back at the site - do a "site-search" at bottom of home page. I am still working on finding the exact building that S.B.Winters had. I will post it as soon as I know for sure. It may not still be standing since so much of the town was destroyed by fire and tornados. But, it a curiosity of mine, so I'll eventually find it.
Our local newspaper just interviewed me about the web site and FHL/RC. They had asked for a picture from our files to use. I gave them one of your family (can't remember which one now). I'll send you a copy of the article if they use it.

I would be more than willing to help with this. I live here in Tampico and I am currently doing the POPE genealogy.
