Thanks, Denise, but he isn't there. I've looked there twice! Weird isn't it? Neither is his daughter, Marie Bridget Curran Jacobson who died 21 Nov 1941 in IL. Maybe its' all a trick and they are still around somewhere?
thanks for looking

Kat - More than likely, it has been mispelled. Try doing a search using only the first three letters of the surname. Also check various spellings - sound out the name and try to imagine how anyone may have spelled it. Try one "r" or "k" instead of "c" or "o" instead of "u", etc. Do this on the IL Archives site, Ancestry, ILTrails and our site. You'll find them, just need to be a little creative! :>) ---------- Denise, Tampico Area Historical Society

I have been on that site so many times! never a hit! I've even asked my husband, the worst speller in the book! to spell it for me and still nothing. I guess I'll have to make a trip to Morrison, maybe there is a record there. Does the cemetery have any records?

Have you tried the SURNAME NAVIGATOR? MAKE SURE ALL POP-UP BLOCKERS ARE DISABLED! http://www.rat.de/kuijsten/navigator/ About 12 "windows" will open. Some have muliple pages, some use all spelling variations. You can also "refine" the search on each page, as it will list ALL CURRANs. The last page will list email addys for CURRAN.
I'm not sure about the Morrison Cemetery records. I don't know how far away you are from Morrison. Have you checked the LDS films to see if there is a death index available? Depending on where you live, your local LDS-FHL may already have the film on site.
Keep us posted on your "finds" (or lack of) and I'll post anything new I may find.

My goodness I'm so far away I'll have to pack a lunch! I'm just in Geneseo, really close. I have a list of Curran death certificates from Whiteside County from 1985 when I first started genealogy, but Wm isn't on it. I didn't think he'd lived as long as he did. My grandmother never talked about her father or mother. That's the reason I started in my quest.
IF you ever need anything in Henry County, let me know

I found him! His obit was in the Tampico Tornado, he died Jan 3, 1916 in his brothers home 3 miles east of Tampico.
Now I'd like to find his death certificate. It isn't in the records in Springfield even though he died in 1916. I think it is because he died so early in the year and they didn't transfer it to the capital.
Does anyone has access to the records in Morrison? I'd also like a marriage license for Edward M Jacobson and Emma Pamperin, who married in Sterling in May 8, 1949.
