(I have been doing research for someone seeking info on the following BROWN family): Hello Denise, Looking for a John Getting Brown that is buried in Riverside Cemetery 1849-1916. Wife was Ruth A Miller Brown that died in Tazewell Co. 3/6/1939 also buried Riverside Cemetery, Phophetstown.I was hoping that the Riverside Cemetery Assoc. had records that might show where John died at, as I don't believe he died in Illinois. Thank you, Kathy
Hi Denise, When ever you find yourself at the library again I have a couple of more Browns that I would like to see if there is an obit for. Henry Brown, born Oct.29, 1812 in Auburn,Susquehanna, PA. died Whiteside Co. March 30, 1881. Hannah Brown Henry's wife, born Auburn, Susquehanna, PA. Oct. 1, 1817, died Jan 11, 1901 Minden, Kearney, Nebraska. Both are burned in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Henry and his family moved from PA to Whiteside Co. about 1858. Children are Lahila Brown,Slater,Griswold,Bacon. Lucius, Jonas, Hiram, Samuel, Harriet Brown Potter, John and Charles Brown. Henry purchased property, farmed and is on the 1860,1870 and 1880 census records for Whiteside Co. I can't find either on the newspaper index. Would love to find something on Henry, I can't find anything that has his parents listed. If you need more info let me know. Thank you, Kathy

I heard from Jim Casson and found the headstones. I'll check the Tampico Tornado and see if we have an obit. The Gazette did not have anything.

I am related to Henry Brown. I contacted the susquahanna historical society earlier this year for information about Henry Brown Born in Auburn township in 1812. They have information that Henry Browns mother was Judith Dalton. The father is unknown at this time. They sent me several documents that state the Judith also married a Lucius Robinson from a couple of townships away. They also sent me a letter sent in by another Brown researching the family that told about a family legend. The story goes that Judith Dalton was pregnent by were employer. Upon learning of the pregnancy JUdith was terminated. Sometime before the baby was born Judith met Henrich Braun and apparently married him. It does not say anymore about Henrich Braun but Judith later marries Lucius Robinson. Please email me at jdr-online @comcast.net for more information.
