I am the great great granddaughter of Oliver McKenzie and grew up in Tampico. I have boxes and boxes of pictures and letters and contracts about the McKenzies and the some of the Brooks. There is a website called mckenzieusa.org that has the whole family tree. This was composed by John McKenzie from California and he spent a week with me going through these boxes. This was at least 10 years ago. My grandfather had worked on a family tree up until he died in the late 50's. I have all his research. I have noticed that on this website, however, my grandfather is listed as Leroy and should be just Roy. I know very little about computors but would really like to get this changed so if any one can help, I would be greatful.

To Connie: It appears that what you have is a treasure of Yorktown History. Of course Oliver Wells McKenzie and Glenn Brooks owned and ran the Yorktown General Store. I have been trying to find especially any old photos or notices of them or the store for decades. Today it is fairly easy to scan or copy photos either on a computer or through a photo service. If you could share some of your items by posting them with the TAHS or contacting me directly, it would be a service beyond generous.......................... Dear Connie, 1. It is so exciting to have you posting on the site. I hope you will be able to submit your family history and photos for our Family History Library and/or our on-line Family History section. You can go to the Main Menu on Home Page and click on "Family Histories" for instructions on submitting Family Files.
2. I have done a site-search for LeRoy/Leroy/McKenzie and can not find any thing listing a "Leroy". They are all showing as Roy or Roy E. McKenzie. If you could send me the direct link of where you found this, I will be happy to correct it if I can.
3. You can always snail-mail info either directly to me: Denise McLoughlin, P.O. 176, Tampico, IL 61283 or to the TAHS & Museum, P.O. 154, Tampico, IL 61283 - Attention: Denise McLoughlin, Family History Coordinator OR email to me at tahs@thewisp.net
Welcome aboard!
