I am looking for 1887 issues of the Tampico Tornado. They do not seem to be on micro-film and I can't find copies at the museum. Need to find an obit/place of burial. Thank you. ---------- Denise, Tampico Area Historical Society

I did find some of 1887 on microfilm from the I.H.S. Roll #90-264A A-91-39.188?

Denise, I have the 1887 Tornado on microfilm (not all of the year was available to be microfilmed though). What month/week are you looking for? Les

Hi Les, Remind me next time to write in the msg what I was looking for! Ha! I have totally forgotten who I was looking for. What I suspect is that I posted the wrong year. I think it was 1877 - and I will have to check my notes on whose obit I needed..... I will re-post when I figure out what I needed it for.
Hey! I'm old - cut me some slack! (giggle)

Denise, I asked sometime ago for an obit from the 1878 Tampico Tornado. Loyal Thomas Johnson was killed in a railroad accident on Feb 26 1878 in Newman, Perry, Jefferson County Kansas. Since he had been a long time resident of Fairfield Twp. Bureau County, Illinois, I thought an Obit may have been reported in the local paper. If you get an 1878 Tampico Tornado, I would appreciate a lookup. Thank you, Vivian

Vivian, I do hope that Les reads this and is able to check for an obit. Meanwhile, I will try to find something to remove this egg from my face..... ---------- Denise, Tampico Area Historical Society

Ahhh, 1878 not 1887. Sorry, but as far as I have been able to determine, there were no Tornados available for microfilming before the 1886 editions. Sorry - no 1878. Les
