William/Margarette Ryan raised family in Tampico. My grandmother Eleanor was one of their daughters born in Tampico 1878. I am looking for any information on this family during the time of their residence in the area.
I also have my grandfather's family living in Sterling, IL (George W. Greenway and his wife Mary). One of their sons (Harry/census said Herman) was my grandfather who married Eleanor Ryan approx. 1908. Again, I am looking for any information on this family. Deaths, births, marriage (Harry/Eleanor), newspaper articles etc.

Using the site-search on the Home Page yielded the following:
Bureau County, IL Voters & Tax Payers Directory - 1877 Fairfield Township
RYAN Wm.; sec 22; P.O. Tampico; farmer; Dem; Cath; from Ireland; rents 120 acres.
I'll see if I can find anything in the TAHS archives.

Thank you for your research on Ryans:
Have found that Ryan's left area in before 1882 - headed to Nebraska. Looks like they arrived Tampico from Vermont after 1868. Had 5 children while in Tampico.
Greenways were in Sterling (George W./Mary)- do you have contact for this township for research.
Many thanks, Carol

Try www.iltrails.org They cover all of Illinois. Select county from menu list on left side of page. They do NOT do research, but post various info and have a "universal" msg board.
Do you know the Children's names that were born in Tampico? ---------- Denise, Tampico Area Historical Society
