His wife was a third class passenger on the Titanic. She survived and we have on permenant display her handbag and a new york letter to her from Relief fund. Within our display, we would like to include more information about her. It is my understanding that she was coming to America to marry Henry. She was 22 yrs old at the time of the sinking. She had a daughter Elsie.
I'm looking for more background information. thank you. ms. kellogg

I can find no connection for Henry or his wife ever living in the Tampico area. They show up on the 1920 & 1930 census records as well as the SSDI - as living in Chicago/Cook Co. until their deaths in 1963 & 1966.
There is a plethora of web sites addressing the Titanic and its passengers, etc.

Velin Öhman boarded the Titanic at Southampton as a third class passenger (ticket number 347085, £7 15s 6d) she was destined for Chicago, IL (3). She was rescued in Collapsible C with fellow Swede Hilda Maria Hellström.
She died in Chicago, Illinois on 19 November 1966.
Notes 1. Velin Öhman is listed in the American Senate list as Velin Olman and in other lists as E. Orman. 2. This date taken from Wetterholm (1996), the death certificate gives date as 14 March 1892. 3. She claimed to be travelling to the home of her uncle Henry Forsander who turns out to have been her fiancé.
