I am trying to pin down my gggrandfather Firman/Ferman/Ferm DRAKE, b NJ ca 1820. He probably is the Ferman who married Phebe SPERRY in 1842; Phebe died in 1843. Firman did marry Elizabeth Jane "Betsy" FINCH 24 Apr 1847 in Whiteside Co. Her parents were James Finch and Sarah Phillips. Firman's parents were Adam Drake and Sarah Boyles/Boiles, married in Sussex Co NJ. I am trying to document Firman's parents as well as his whereabouts from ca 1836 (when Sarah died in NJ) to 1850 when he shows up on the US Census in Whiteside Co IL. In 1860 he is in Winona Co MN; 1870 in Hanover, Jo Daviess Co IL, 1880-1886 (when he died) in Audubon Co IA. In the 1850 Census, Enoch Brown (7) and Joseph M. Brown are living in the Drake household. In 1860, Enoch appears to have changed his name to Drake but Joseph is not in the household. Any info will be appreciated. Thank you. Rosemary
