The following was posted in our guest book. I am repositioning it here on the message board. Can anyone help Rodney?
WAS RAISEDIN TAMPICO, AND HAVE MANY WONDERFUL MEMORIES OF MY CHILDHOOD THERE .A PART OF ME WILL ALWAYS BE IN TAMPICO. I OFTEN WONDER WHERE MANY OF MY OLD CHILDHOOD FRIENDS FROM TAMPICO ARE TODAY AND WHAT THEY ARE DOING.HERE IS JUST A SHORT LIST OF MY MANY FRIENDS AND CLASSMATES FROM TAMPICO.GARY MUSCHE, ALAN ROSENOW (WHO I SAIDLY HEARD PASSED AWAY A SHORT TIME AGO).JEANIE ROCKO,GREG,CHUCK AND PAUL ADAMS, JOE SCHMIT,MARK WETZEL,HENRY RICHMOND.TIM MARX. MOST ALL OF THESE PEOPLE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1969.I WOULD APPERCIATE ANY INFORMATION YOU COULD GIVE ME ON THOSE PEOPLE OR ANYONE ELSE FROM THAT CLASS OR AGE GROUP.AS FOR MY SELF I AM A BUILDING MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR FOR A SCHOOL CORPORATION. Rodney,
I don't have (at least at this time) have any information regarding your list of "where are they now;" however, I find it interesting you live in Warsaw, IN - a place where Eliza CARTWRIGHT was born December 20, 1852 to Mears and Sarah nee FLESHMAN CARTWRIGHT. It appears Sarah and Eliza moved to Whiteside and Bureau Co., area where Eliza married Emmit HOGEBOOM and Sarah married Richard DEAN. So, the unsolved question is, "Where is Mears?" It would be great if you could search out the life and times of the CARTWRIGHT family during their Warsaw (Prairie Township, IN years - especially if you can locate Mears.

to rodney graham: here are some of your classmates and where and what they are doing. gary musche- lives on buell road , south of roci falls. jeanie rocko - lives in normal , il. paul adams - live just north of the tampico post office. greg adams - lives on rt. 40, just south of rock falls, il. mark wetzel - lives west of tampico and farms. pam doty - lives in warrensberg, il. husband farms. julie bradley - lives in walnut,il. her and her husband run a plumbing business. larry greenwood - had his own semi and farms. lives just west of thomas, il. karl kaiser - minister of the tampico baptist church. lives in tampico. pat mccormick - i think lives in the chicago area. bridget newman - married stan loudenburg, farms near prophetstown, il brenda nielsen - lives north and east of yorktown, il. art oldham - farms near thomas, il. rick palmer - lawyer in sterling il. john pierceson - farms and runs pierceson trucking. lives near tampico. barbara schaffer - married kelvin anderson and lives two miles north of thomas, il. ed staelens - works at radio shack in sterling , il. lives in tampico i believe. mark wetzell - farms west of tampico,il. that is all i can come up with for now.

you didn't leave your email address for me, please do it when you can. you would not remember me , as i went to manlius high school. graduated in 1961. i remember goob's pool hall and later jim kirst ran one. my sister taught at tampico, she was janice cooper. i don't know if you would know her or not. well, i will try to give you email adress to carl and a few others, when i can get it.

BOB , YOU REFRESHED ALOT OF FOND MEMORIES . I REMEMBER THE POOL HALLS AND SPENT MANY HOURS IN THEM. ALSO THE KIRST FAMILY, JIM HAD TWO BROTHERS HERB AND ART. ART HAD A SON NAMED JUNIOR WHO I THINK IS STILL IN THE AREA. AND PROBABLE THE BIGGEST SUPRISE OF ALL FOR YOU IS THAT JANICE COPPER WAS MY FORTH GRADE TEACHER!! SHE ALSO ATTENDED TAMPICO BAPTIST CHURCH AS MY FAMILY DID. I KNOW SHE DIED OF CANCER MANY YEARS AGO AT AN EARLY AGE. I GIVE YOU MY VERY BELATED CONDOLENSES. MY E-MAIL AT HOME HAS BEEN INTERRUPTED. For future reference for all, contact your High School or College Alumni Associations. They often have all the current info concerning you and others withwhom you want to renew old friendships.
I've had mine contact me for someone who was trying to find me and then asked permission to give out my phone number to that person. They also have a directory that can be purchased as well.

In response to "Anonymous" - As a general rule, that is good info. However, Tampico High School Alumni Assoc. does not follow anyone that has graduated fewer than 25 years ago. Your best bet for finding Tampico HS buddies is this web site. Great people like Bob Johnson go the extra mile to "fill in the blanks." Also, Les has suggested the Classmates.com

there was a lewis cartright, that lived on the east end of thomas, fairfield township.this was around the 1900s. that was before my time tho! he set aside 3/4 of an acre for the thomas area cemetary, this is about 1 mile east of thomas.

Hi,
My name is Tracy (Pope) Keele and I'm doing the Pope genealogy. Isee in some of your posted your related to Paul Davis. From what I have so far Aaron Pope married Mary wetzel.They had a child named Sadie Elizabeth, who married Lee Davis. they had a girl named myrtle who ,married a Denison and that family is still in Tampico.Sadie had a boy named Arthur which I belive Paul desends from.......I would love to get any information on Arthur if you know anyone that has any. THEY LIVE IN STERLING IL. SON PAUL DAVIS AND WIFE SANDY LIVE IN ROCK FALLS IL. DAUGHTER MARY MARRIED ROGER CHRIST OF TAMPICO AND ALSO LIVES IN ROCK FALLS. ANOTHER SON RICK RESIDES IN FRANCE. Bob read your message replay and I noticed you mentioned the name os Stan Loudenburg. I an looking for a member of the family of Meredith Loudenburg. Lily his wife was supposed to have wrote a genealogy report on the King family and was going to have it published. However she died in 2005 and no one in Mercer Co. heard any thing more about it. stan is merideth's son, he lives near prophetstown. the loudnburgs have a daughter that lives in hoopole, il. her name is norma meier, i think that she would know more than stan.

this goes out to any one still in tampico. my mom & dad was from there. william (bill ) kirst. and leann kirst( richmond.) my uncle donnie and uncle herb still live there. can anyone tell me how there are all doing? its been YEARS since i have been to tampico. daddy died in 1987 and i think i came there maybe once after that. any info would be great.

hi i have a picture of hoopole illinois that looks like it was taken when the town was very new dirt roads and her is a note on the back that it was our first house..must have been one of my gt or gt gt grandparents either a palmer or a shook.. or could even be a davis... i know my family lived in tampico later... it was probably in the 1800s however i just love seeing these old pictures our family left for us. i would be happy to send you the picture just for a memory of when your wonderfull town was new... ruth
