Happy New Year

MISCELLANEOUS The Christmas Decorations at the Historical Society were absolutely beautiful! I understand we have TAHS member Denise Mickelson and her mom, Kay Lancaster, to thank for that. Nice job ladies!
Ruth Thompson has been voted in as the new Secretary for the TAHS. Ethel Rosene continues her duties as the Curator.
FYI -Deb Thormahlen has started a blog on miscellaneous information about Whiteside County extracted from old news articles. http://whitesideglimpses.blogspot.com/ Deb has had some medical challenges this past year. Keep her & her family in your prayers for continued improvement. She has contributed often to our website.

MESSAGE BOARDS We were able to "crash" another genealogy brick wall for the Castle/Murphy Families. http://www.tampicohistoricalsociety.citymax.com/board/board_topic/23882/811713.htm
Dan McDonald of Iowa, is looking for descendants of Frank & Raine (McDonald) Dudley. Dan wrote: "Raine Edna McDonald - married Frank Dudley (1908). When Raine's aunt Etta McDonald passed away in the 1920's, Raine received all of the "household goods" (according to Etta's obituary) So my thinking is that maybe a descendant of the Dudley's may have a photo album of my family's from the mid to late 1800s. That's if I can either find or get lucky locating a descendant of Frank & Raine (McDonald) Dudley." If you can help, email me or post on Message Board http://www.tampicohistoricalsociety.citymax.com/board/board_topic/23882/380536.htm
We can knock off one more thing on our WISH LIST http://www.tampicohistoricalsociety.citymax.com/board/board_topic/23882/217678.htm Thanks to the generosity of TAHS member, Ruth Thompson, we now have a brand new, wide-bed printer/scanner/copier! It will be so much easier & safer to copy those bound copies of the Tampico Tornado newspapers. THANK YOU Ruth!
Tom Thompson is still looking for an exterior photo of Advance School in Hahnaman Township. See our Msg. Board: http://www.tampicohistoricalsociety.citymax.com/board/board_topic/23882/768485.htm
